AREC Act on the Registration and Evaluation of Chemicals (known as Korea REACH)

The Toxic Chemical Control Act (TCCA) which came into force on 2 Feb 1991 has been divided into Korea REACH and Chemicals Control Act (CCA) on Jan 1, 2015. K-REACH focuses on registration and evaluation of substance while CCA focuses on the control of hazardous substance and response to chemical accidents.

KC Mark
Article 22 of the Quality Management and Consumer Product Safety Act

It is compulsory for manufacturers or importers to sell or import consumer products; they have to attach the KC mark to the products after making sure that they meet the safety requirements according to the safety and quality indication criteria.

MEP Order n 7 ( known as China REACH)
Ministry of Environmental Protection (MEP) of China released the revised version (the Order No. 7) of the Provisions on Environmental Administration of New Chemical Substances. The new regulation came into force on 15 Oct 2010. This regulation is similar to EU REACH and is also known as "China REACH".

Chinese GB standards
 GB national standards are covering many consumer products. These standards must be met before products can be sold in China. Standard is intended to control the hazardous substances in products, improve product quality, ensure people's basic safety and health and to enforce the general safety and technical specifications for products sold in China.

China GB/T xxxxx Safety requirements for hazardous chemicals in consumer products is a draft recommended national standard published by China's National Consumer Product Safety Standardisation Technical Commission in April 2017

If adopted, the standard will restrict 103 chemical substances in various consumer products such as toys, textiles, coatings, batteries, personal care products and furniture.   • Heavy metals such as Pb, Cd, Hg ,Cr (VI), Ba, Ni, Co, As, Cu;
  • PAHs;
  • PFOS
  • Phenols including BPA;
  • Volatile organic compounds (VOC) such as benzene, xylene,
